The 3 Fairways Cottages are similar in style and layout and each one can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests.
The cottages were built in 2004, and offer guests the flexibility of self-catering
accommodation, with the choice of many restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Prestwick town centre shops and restaurants, and the sea-front
are only minutes
away and panoramic views of Isle of Arran and Prestwick Old Course.
We are situated close to the heart of Ayrshire town, famous for its golfing links and also an important area for tourism (e.g. Burns Country, indoor and outdoor bowls, Ayr Races) and business. National Cycle Route 7 passes our front door.
Accommodation
Whether it is holiday or business that brings you to Ayrshire, these fully-equipped and modern cottages will not disappoint.
Each cottage has a bedroom with two single beds, a lounge with
a sofa that can convert into a double bed. Fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom /
wc. All linen, light and heat are included.
Washing machine/tumble drier available for use by guests at a small charge. We operate a no-smoking policy but guests may smoke on the decking area outside the cottages, although we would ask smokers to respect the rights of non-smokers who may be using the decking at the same time. Small pets by prior arrangement only
Around the area
2009 is the 250th anniversary of Rabbie Burns birth (in January). The annual Burns Festival held locally in May is expected to be a really big event.
The ancient small town of Prestwick lies close to the heart of Rabbie Burns
country, where Scotland's world-famous poet was born almost 200 years ago in
1759. Renowned for its historic golf course, scene of the first Open
championship held nearly 150 years ago in 1860. Prestwick enjoys a sheltered
position on the Ayrshire coast and is located some 30 miles/50 kms.south west
of Glasgow.
The Fairways Cottages are ideally situated for easy access to the area, whether by your own transport (M77/A77, etc.), or public transport. We are less than a 2 minutes walk from Prestwick Town railway station, with frequent trains to Glasgow and beyond. In nearby Troon, the fast-ferry operates a summer service to Larne in N. Ireland. At Ardrossan, 30 minutes away, you can board the ferry to the Isle of Arran.
Activities
Golf (there are courses nearby to suit all handicaps and budgets and we can arrange your tee times), bowls (indoor and outdoor), or many other sports (tennis, horse-riding, etc.). Or you can attend Ayr races, visit Burns country, or just stroll 2 minutes to the beach and watch spectacular sunsets over the Isle of Arran.
Airports/Ferries
Fairways Cottages are less than 1 mile / 2 kms. from Glasgow Prestwick airport, a major hub of budget airline Ryanair, and other carriers. Access to the Ayrshire "golf coast" has never been easier, with daily scheduled flights within the UK, and from Europe and Scandinavia.
2 minutes walk from Prestwick Town railway station with regular direct links to the heart of Glasgow, reached in 40 minutes.
Located on the South West coast of Scotland and warmed by the Gulf Stream, Prestwick is easily accessible by road, rail and air. The fast ferry from Larne arrives at nearby Troon.
Tariff
Rates from £275.00 to £475.00 per week depending on season and normally Saturday to Saturday. Letting for less than a full week may be possible, but subject to a minimum charge of half a week. Use of a washing machine/tumble drier £6.00 per session.
Cancellation of a reservation may result in a charge if we are unable to re-let. Guests are recommended to carry insurance to protect themselves in the event of being unable to honour the contract.
Rates are for 1 week, normally Saturday to Saturday and for a maximum of 4 guests per cottage. (A family of 4, 2 couples or 3 adult males/females).
Please note:- If you are arriving late, we can provide breakfast cereals, bread, milk, tea/coffee, fruit juice, etc by prior arrangement. A small charge will be added to your bill.
