Ardbrecknish has a fortunate location being off the beaten track, within a spectacular setting, with breathtaking highland panoramic views, yet ideal as a touring centre.

Apart from the attractions of Lochaweside and Argyll on the doorstep, an hour or less takes you to Loch Lomond, Argyll Forest Park, Crinan Canal, Mull of Kintyre, skiing and climbing at Glen Coe. Oban, a busy, harbour town is the ferry base for cruising to the Magical Western Isles. Glasgow Airport is just over an hour's drive and Edinburgh or Inverness are within the scope of a day excursion.

Birch Cottage - Sleeps 4/5

1 double, 1 twin (+ sofa bed)

Detached purpose-built holiday cottage situated just a few hundred yards from the shore. Modern pine panelled open-plan lounge and kitchenette. Toilet and bath/shower downstairs. Double bedroom off half landing, twin bedroom at top of stairs with a sofa bed. Very clean and bright.

Popular with family groups and couples.

The Lower Tower - Sleeps 4

1 double, 1 twin.

Ground floor with entrance directly from north court and resident's car park. Lounge has views north towards the loch form the lower part of the round tower on the east wing. Large twin bedroom.

The Stables - Sleeps 4

1 double, 1 twin

Ground floor with entrance directly from south court. Snug in winter and last to lose the sun on summer evenings.

Slightly cheaper than the Lower Tower and Upper Tower because it is smaller, but remains popular with families, couples and small fishing parties.

The Upper Tower - Sleeps 4

1 double, 1 twin (sofa bed in lounge).

1st and 2nd floor with entrance from south court up external steps. Kitchen in round of tower and lounge upstairs in square tower turret. Excellent views from the lounge and kitchen windows.

Popular with family groups and couples out of season. Probably our most comfortable apartment for two to four/five persons. Displays the character of the Scottish Tower House architecture.

Cummins Cottage - Sleeps 5

1 double, 1 triple (3 singles)

Detached purpose-built holiday cottage situated just a few hundred yards from the main house. Modern pine panelled open-plan lounge and kitchenette. Toilet and bath/shower downstairs. Double bedroom with king size, and half landing to second bedroom with three single beds. Very clean and bright. Picnic table in the garden.

Ireland Cottage - Sleeps 5

The Nursery - Sleeps 6

West Tower - Sleeps 8/9

2 doubles, 2 twins (a futon can be made-up in one twin room to make a triple)

   

Ground floor with entrance from front hall. Spacious lounge incorporating a dining table seating 8. 1 double bedroom and twin bedroom with access to the garden on ground floor. 1 twin and 1 double at top of tower with ensuite bathroom. Outstanding views West down Loch Awe and North across the loch to Ben Cruachan.

Very popular with large or multiple family groups and any larger groups. Very spacious and homely throughout. The West Tower is the oldest part of the house, with a solid fuel stove in the kitchen.

Summer Wing - Sleeps 9

2 doubles, 1 twin, 1 triple (with a bunk bed)

1st floor with entrance from top of main stairs. Spacious and light lounge with marvellous views over fields to the loch and Ben Cruachan. The apartment extends from the front of the house to the back and is spacious throughout with a large central kitchen.

Very popular with large or multiple family groups and any larger adult groups.

Old West Wing - Sleeps 12

2 doubles, 2 twins and 1 family room with a double and two singles.

1st floor with entrance from main stairs. Spacious lounge incorporating a dining table seating 12. 1 double bedroom on 1st floor and all other bed-rooms on 2nd floor. Views West down Loch Awe and North across the loch to Ben Cruachan.

Very popular with large or multiple family groups and any larger groups. Very well priced per head per night, so always books up quickly throughout the year for holidays, birthday parties and reunions.

Facilities

Within the house we have the Ardbrecknish Room, with large open fire and wood panelled ceiling. Here you can enjoy an excellent home cooked bar meal, play pool or darts and on occasion enjoy live music and dancing. Additionally, the house has a laundry room and a library introducing the wealth of local history, attractions and wildlife. The beautiful grounds are ideal for woodland and waterside walks and you will find a hard tennis court, childrens play area, picnic and barbecue areas. The house also features a friendly bar serving fine ales, a range of malt whiskies - the ideal place to relax around the fire and chat with the locals.

Inveraray has good selection of hotels, restaurants, excellent small shops and petrol stations. Oban offers a good range of specialist shops, super markets, hotels, restaurants and takeaways.

Ardbrecknish House offers the perfect base for some of the best game and coarse fishing in Scotland. Boat Hire is available just a few yards from the house, whilst permits can be bought at the bar. Coarse fishing is year-round, whilst game fishing runs from 15 March to 6 October.
