


Seaview is situated in the village of Glenelg on the west coast of Scotland. Glenelg lies on the mainland coast opposite and overlooking the Isle of Sky. It is in the heart of hill walking country, close to the five sisters of Kintail and many local walks.

Seaview is a modern detached house situated on the shoreline in the small hamlet of Glenelg on the west coast of the highlands of Scotland. Seaview was built by the present owner for his own use on the site of the family old stone cottage however his work away from Glenelg has made this property available for rent on the self-catering holiday market.
This two story detached house with enclosed garden for children is extremely well equipped for self catering. The Glenelg coast and surrounding Glens are an area of unsurpassed beauty and magnificent scenery, where breathtaking and rugged mountains and coastline merge into the romantic landscape of deep silent glens and lush forests. Where beautiful beaches beckon, rivers wander through the glens and sheep wander along the roads. Seaview which commands spectacular views of the shoreline across the sea to the Isle-of-sky, down the Sound of Sleat to the Cuillins and towards the Atlantic Ocean.

Ground floor
Comprising of Porch, hallway,
toilet and to the left a large open plan kitchen/dining room while to the right
a large open plan lounge/dining room with patio doors.
Lounge
The Lounge is a large open plan room with patio doors to the side, and windows to side and front, carpeted throughout. There is a fireplace which now houses the central heating boiler and combined coal effect fire, this also acts as a convection fan heater for this room. This room has the central heating control panel. There is a three piece suite comprising three, two and two seaters and a matching foot stool. Other furniture include wall unit, coffee table, and two sets of nest tables (total 6 tables), and two built in bench seats. There is also a Television and video. The overhead lights in this room are fitted with dimmer controls.
Bedrooms
Bedrooms - The whole first floor comprises four double bedrooms, bathroom, landing, cupboard and ensuite.
Bedroom 1 - Master bedroom, carpeted throughout, has a king-size pine
bed, built in wardrobe with mirror doors, television and bedside cabinets. This
room also has an on suite with a shower, looks to the front of the property and
enjoys the picturesque view over the sea.

Bedroom 2 - Carpeted throughout, has king-size bed and two bunk beds, built in wardrobes with mirror doors, television, bedside cabinet and two chest of drawers. This room looks up the hill to the rear of the property.
Bedroom 3 - Carpeted throughout, double bed and bedside cabinets, built in wardrobe, Television. This room looks to the front of the property and enjoys the picturesque view over the sea.
Bedroom 4 - Carpeted throughout, bauble bed and bedside cabinets, built in wardrobe, Television. This room looks up the hill to the rear of the property.
The whole house is heated by oil central heating, water is by central heating or Electric, there is a coal effect fire in the living room, and. Seaview is suitable for parties of eight (10 using bunk beds), often in the past two families have shared a holiday in Seaview.
About the area
Glenelg has a population of about 400, is a very tranquil and peaceful place with breathtaking scenery. Situated on the mainland coast opposite the Isle of Sky this is an ideal base to visit Sky with the local car ferry 3 miles away.
Glenelg is a unique place with numerous people returning year after year, many for the last 20 years, presumably because of the tranquillity, friendliness of the locals and the local inn. Until recently mobile phones did not work in Glenelg.
Activities
There is an abundance of fishing in the area, sea, boat, river or loch fishing. Walks of various severity from gentle 5 minute walk to the local shop and inn, walks along the coast or glen, and hill walking from gentle walks to the five sisters of Kintail or Beinn Sgrilheall. There are many other activities in the surrounding area. Of historic interest are the Pictish Brochs, General Wades Barracks, Sandaig where Gavin Maxwell lived with the otters and from which the film Ring of Bright Water was made.
How to get here
When you leave the Road to the Isles at Kintail it is 9 miles over Mam Ratagan to get to Glenelg, the only other access is across the local ferry to the Isle of Skye.
Bookings
Seaview is available for let on a weekly basis from Saturday at 3 pm until Saturday at 10 am, our prices vary throughout the season and include all electricity, oil, gas and linen but not towels, there are no additional charges. One well behaved pet is permitted for which there is no charge, but tenants will be held responsible for any damage caused to the furnishings. If more than one pet is requested then this will be assessed on an individual basis.
To book/enquire please advise us by e-mail which week, please also supply a valid e-mail address, postal address, telephone number and the number in your party, and if available we will hold the property in your name for 7 days pending receipt of the deposit at which time it will be marked on the web site as booked. Our terms are 30% deposit on booking and the balance paid one month prior to entry. If the time from booking to entry is less than one month then the full rental should be paid at the time of booking.
