Situated in a unique location actually on the shores of Loch Melfort, protected on the seaward side by uninhabited islands and sheltered by the hills of Melfort to the North.

These high quality, self contained houses surround our private harbour. All the houses have balconies from which you can enjoy the antics in the bay on the long summer evenings with breathtaking views over the hills and loch.

Accommodation

There is a choice of 1 to 4 bedroomed houses, which are finished to the highest standards, providing freedom, flexibility, privacy and service. Sensible and thoughtful design make the harbour houses blend with the environment and each property is to a Scandinavian design with all "home from home" comforts.

Each house is different in layout and varies in size to sleep 2-8 persons. In most houses each bedroom has its own en suite facility which is opulence indeed.

The properties are Scandinavian design, fresh, uncluttered, with all home from home comforts, with a few extras - modern leather suites, underfloor heating, satellite TV, CD player, telephone, Email hook-up, dishwasher, microwave, and laundry facilities. Some have a log fire, perfect for winter evenings.

All the beds are made ready for your arrival.

Pet Friendly

We welcome all of your pets - a maximum of two well-behaved pets per house and the cost is £10 per pet.

Please note that your pet(s) must be well controlled as the surrounding lands are working farms with sheep and cattle. A pet-basket is essential as it must be clearly understood that pet(s) must not lie on beds or furniture. 

Pet sitting service also available.

Melfort Pier is also qualified for Disabled Cat 2 STB.

Our aim at Melfort is to enable anyone to come and enjoy a relaxing holiday in this idyllic setting, therefore it was important to us to provide comfortable and accessible accommodation for our less able guests.

Some of our houses are on one floor with ramps, parking for easy access, and all the required facilities in the bathroom, up to Cat. 2 STB. Please call us and we will advise you which house would best suit your requirements.

Also at Melfort we have compiled a list of facilities with access for the disabled in the Oban and Lorn area which we can give you on your arrival. Of course we will be happy to help with any other aspect of your stay here.

If you want time out from cooking, there is a restaurant only 15 minutes walk away, (or less than 5 minutes in the car), and there are several good places to eat in the surrounding area.

Activities

Some people come to Melfort to do nothing more strenuous than look at the view, climb into the spa bath, potter over to the balcony, feed the birds, read a book or fall asleep.

Leisure activities abound including Watersports, Sailing, Fishing, Painting, Bird Watching are just a few of what's on offer, and the area is second to none for Wildlife and Walking.

Places to visit 

Historical sites, Castles, Oban Rare Breeds Farm Park, Crinan Canal these are just a few. There are panoramic views to Jura, Mull and Colonsay. National Trust properties can be visited from here.
