Trallwm Forest Cottages are beautifully situated self catering holiday properties in the heart of a working woodland deep in the Cambrian Mountains, Wales. If you are looking to escape a busy lifestyle, you cannot do much better than the peace of the Forest Cottages.
All the cottages lie within the Trallwm Estate at the head of the Gwesyn and Cynffiad valleys. Both of these mountain streams flow down to Builth Wells, 13 miles away, to join the Wye. Abergwsyn is the gateway to the spectacular mountain road to Tregaron and the coast.
Ramble through the woods or onto nearby moorland, fish in the streams and
rivers, pony trek or use the mountain bike trails throughout the forest. You will see red kites,
goldcrests, rarely a day passes without seeing a buzzard, but you will see very
few people! Please note that all our cottages now have TV reception.
SISKIN
- Sleeps 2
A detached stone cottage, named after the pretty yellow woodland bird that is often seen here, this detached, converted stone barn has much character. It is situated within our working forest. Heated by a wood burner, it has satellite TV, and night storage heaters.
Downstairs there is a lounge with wood burner, digital television and stereo. The kitchen/diner has a microwave, electric cooker, fridge, tabletop washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a shower room with loo and basin. A payphone is fitted. Upstairs there is a double bedroom. Siskin is a non-smoking cottage.
One well-behaved dog is allowed, by arrangement only, for an additional fee of £15 per week.
NANT-GARREG - Sleeps 4 plus a baby
This detached stone cottage was restored in 1983, after lying empty for 70 years. Nant-Garreg has much character including exposed oak beams. 1 double and 1 twin bedroom, has satellite TV. 1 well behaved dog, by arrangement, is allowed. There is a patio and garden landscaped from the surrounding forest. There are 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin, and, a cot is also available.
The downstairs comprises an open plan lounge/diner which has an inglenook
fireplace with a wood-burning stove and digital television. The small,
well-equipped kitchen contains a dishwasher, double oven and microwave, and also
a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Besides the wood stove, electric night storage heaters to provide warmth. One
well-behaved dog is allowed by arrangement only, for an additional fee of £15

TRALLWM FARMHOUSE - Sleeps 6/7 plus a baby.
Trallwm Farmhouse sits above two converted stone barns beside a mountain stream. A lawned area with a picnic table is located outside its front door.
This 18th century farmhouse has much character.
Ample accommodation for 6 plus baby in three bedrooms (double downstairs, family and twin rooms upstairs). Inglenook and wood burner in lounge/diner, night storage heaters in every room. Video recorder.
The well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, electric cooker and microwave.
Downstairs, there is a double bedroom and a shower with loo. The upstairs rooms comprise a large twin bedroom with an extra single bed and a cot and a bathroom with bath, bidet, basin and loo and another twin bedroom

KESTREL and RED KITE COTTAGES - Sleep 4
Comfortable converted stone barns, 2 bedroomed, beside a mountain stream.
This 18th century, semi-detached, architect-designed, converted stone barn sits in Trallwm woods beside a mountain stream.
Large double glazed doors lead into the lounge/diner where there is a wood-burning stove and an electric night storage heater.
The well-equipped kitchen is all-electric with a microwave, etc. Stairs lead up to a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with wash hand-basin, bath, loo, heater and heated towel rail

Magpie is a delightful cottage beside a mountain stream.
Upstairs is a double bedroom suitable for a couple .

TRAWSGYRCH - Sleeps 10
A traditional 17th century Welsh stone farmhouse, tastefully renovated whilst retaining the essence of its natural charm. It is situated on a working sheep farm beside a mountain stream. Centrally heated with electric night storage heaters.
It has 5 bedrooms, sleeping up to 10. Ideal for family parties, it has digital TV, dishwasher, and washing machine
Ground Floor: Kitchen/diner with fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, gas cooker etc. Lounge with inglenook fireplace with wood burner and digital TV. Loo and wash hand-basin.
First Floor: Bathroom with bath, loo and wash hand basin, heated towel rail. Double bedroom with en-suite shower and cot, single bedroom, double bedroom, twin bedroom
Second Floor: Twin bedroom, lounge with single bed.
The cottage has a payphone. One well-behaved dog is allowed, by arrangement only, for an additional fee of £15 per week.
Enjoy the peace and quiet. Play, swim or fish in the mountain streams.
Mountain bike or pony trek in the hills. Birdwatching - Red Kites, Siskins and

Wells (7 miles) is the smallest town in Britain, famous for its Bog Snorkelling
Championships! The Brecon Beacons (23 miles), the old market town of Builth
Wells, home of the Royal Welsh Show (13 miles west), and the Dinas RSPB Bird
Reserve, (12 miles) has an excellent 2 mile nature trail.

Bedlinen and towels are provided in all cottages. Where there is a '+' sign
electricity is meter read and the logs are charged for. In Kestrel and Red Kite,
electricity is included as well as a bag of logs to get you started (more wood
is available at £3 a bag).
