Ruthern Valley is a peaceful and relaxing holiday retreat in 7.5 acres of park and woodland within easy reach of North and South coasts

 With a choice of self- catering accommodation lodges, bungalows, camping and caravan pitches. Located just outside Bodmin, in the heart of Cornwall,

Determined to keep away from the rigidity of row upon row of tents and tourers, our campsite of only 30 pitches is spread over four natural areas. The sunny, open tree-lined main field slightly exceeds one acre and is given over to only 16 pitches, six of which have electrical hood-up facilities. The wood is ideal for tents which has only five pitches, whereas the End Field and First Fairing are alcoves of only four pitches each and are therefore particularly well suited for larger groups. Facilities are Shower block, Laundry and site Shop.

We also have only 8 lodges, 4 bungalows and 6 caravans. The camping areas are in separate enclosures.

Visitors will find a re-furbished play area with professionally built play equipment for all ages and 5 a side goal posts, set well away from the accommodation area for children, who will also love watching the abundant wildlife around the site. Within 12 miles there are no less than eight Golf Courses. The Camel Trail is only 5 minutes by cycle. Coarse & Sea fishing within an easy drive. Pony Trekking & Cycle Hire. 

The range of trees and shrubs reflect the high level of expertise which went into landscaping this beautiful undulating site some thirty years ago. A perfect setting for our lodges and caravans campsite. Its situated in an ideal location for colour in the Spring, for wide ranging attractions of Cornwall including the nearby Eden Project in the Summer and a ideal base for inland and coastal walking in the golden days of Autumn within 30 minutes of North and South coasts.

Only three-quarters of a mile away is the Camel trail, a combined walk/cycle track along the river Camel, nearby fishing, pony trekking.

Holiday Hire

Nestled among the trees, we have only 6 static caravans each with their own picnic area and table. All have 2 bedrooms plus bathroom, kitchen, dining and lounge areas. Each kitchen contains a full size cooker and fridge whilst the bathrooms have showers and flush toilets. The lounges have a gas fire and colour TV.

The caravans are mains connected for water drainage and electricity.

The caravans are all 28'x10' and can accommodate up to 6 people.

Car parking is adjacent to all caravans and visitors are requested to provide their own bed linen and towels.

Secluded and unobtrusive, all caravans provide a feeling of being privately tucked away yet not isolated-perfect for a totally relaxing holiday surrounded by nature and not troubled by noise

The shower block contains ladies’ and gents’ showers, constant hot and cold water and flush toilets. 

Laundry facilities include  two washing machines and tumble drier, along with an iron and ironing board also provided.
